More Information About Summer Youth Theater

Welcome to The Emerson Theater Collaborative’s Summer Youth Theatre Program 2020! This summer is going to be an amazing & unique one, and your kids are going to be learning all about theatre, and themselves, in an exciting new way.

This year we have all been tasked with learning how to create and operate under a “new normal” during the Coronavirus Pandemic, where we can continue to develop our artistic passions while keeping our youth participants’ health and safety. So Welcome to our Virtual Summer Youth Theater Program: “The Art of Playing Me” – so, what does this mean?

  • First, learning virtually gives us an exciting opportunity to connect both our Mystic, CT program AND our Sedona, AZ program.
We are thrilled to bring our young people together to share their experiences over the last few months and to learn how to use these experiences to create and share in new and exciting ways.



This summer we will focus on:

  • The Art of Storytelling, through the Art of Creative Writing.
  • Bringing those stories to life with the Art of Puppetry.  
Through monologue & collaborative playwriting, youth will learn to use their voices through the creation of original puppets. We will culminate our experience with a totally personal & original theatrical piece written by and starring our campers!  



The summer program Highlights:

  • Program Starts:  June 15th thru July 9th with online performances July 10th & 11th, 2020.
  • Classes will run from 10a.m pm-12pm in Sedona AZ  via Google Meet or Zoom.
  • Each child will receive a link for the program and all you have to do is click the link to connect. 
  • Parents are encouraged to participate with their children if they’re able. We have made this program economical so that all can participate. SEE BELOW
